The Center for Girls’ and Young Women’s Leadership intentionally positions 正规网赌软件推荐 students to find their voice and know their power through original programming, leadership-centered curriculum, strategic partnerships, and intentional opportunities.

True leaders express their authentic selves, listen with open mindedness, speak with clarity and conviction, take courageous and healthy risks, face challenges with resilience, collaborate with others, and achieve balance in school and personal life to achieve wellness. These are the skills we develop in every girl and young woman at 正规网赌软件推荐, and this is the work of our Center.

Starting with the Program for Young Children and continuing through the Upper School, the Center implements a cross-divisional curriculum to develop students’ greatest leadership potential in the service of others, effecting lasting change in both themselves and their communities.

Girls and young women fill every leadership position at 正规网赌软件推荐. But students must also be prepared and empowered for these positions. Through the Center’s small-group mentorship and training, our students realize their potential as leaders.

By partnering with organizations and universities across the greater Columbus area, the Center provides exclusive opportunities for 正规网赌软件推荐 students, connecting them with leaders in their field of interest and providing them opportunities to dive into issues that align with their passions and skills.

Summer programming and year-round summits are open not only to 正规网赌软件推荐 students, but also to girls and young women in the Greater Columbus area. These initiatives provide all girls the same opportunities to grow their leadership skills.

An expert in American women’s history and politics, Dr. Emily Krichbaum earned her doctorate from Case Western Reserve University and authored numerous articles on nineteenth and twentieth-century women’s reform leaders. Her most recent work on Elizabeth Cady Stanton was published by the University of Notre Dame press in 2021.

For 10 years, Dr. Krichbaum taught at Ashland University, where she received both Female Faculty Member of the Year and multiple Mentor of the Year awards. Dr. Krichbaum created the first women’s history and gender history class at both the undergraduate and graduate level. She also started 1girl on Ashland University’s campus, a student-led mentorship program in which female undergraduates receive mentoring from community professionals and provide mentoring to middle-school girls in the Ashland community.

In 2018, Dr. Krichbaum founded Remember the Ladies, an initiative that helps teachers and school districts incorporate more women’s history into American history classrooms. She presented her ideas on the TEDx stage in 2019. She has also served as a curriculum advisor and professional development speaker for teachingamericanhistory.org and the Bill of Rights Institute.

Dr. Krichbaum serves as the Director of Center for Girls’ and Young Women’s Leadership and Department Chair of History at Columbus School for Girls. She has also taught as a faculty-in-residence for POWER’s NEW Leadership program at the John Glenn School of Public Policy at The Ohio State University as well as Rochester Institute of Technology’s Center for Statesmanship, Law, and Liberty.

Outside of the Center, Dr. Krichbaum looks forward to her morning run, the Sunday paper, and the day women comprise 50% of the legislature. She lives in Bexley with her husband, Brian, and daughter, June.
